According to him, between the June 25 and July 15, the command recovered 13 firearms and seven rustled cows.

Three suspected rapists, who specialised in raping college students, were also apprehended in addition to the recovery of a cache of live ammunition and cartridges.

The police boss further disclosed that within the period under review, nine stolen vehicles were recovered by officers and men of the command.

He noted that most of the recovered vehicles were snatched at gunpoint by armed robbers in neighbouring states, especially Kaduna, Benue and Taraba states.

He, however, affirmed that Makurdi, the Benue State capital, had become notorious for selling stolen cars as most cases of stolen vehicles were traceable to it.
